Automated Guided Vehicles (AGV)
HTI's custom-engineered automated guided vehicles (AGVs) are automated, computer-controlled wheeled vehicles that transport products or materials throughout or around the warehouse facility. These mobile robots are programmed to operate within the navigational paths or areas defined by laser triangulation, optical or inertial wire, or magnetic tape or grids.
An AGV system has five major components:
- The mobile robot vehicle
- Host software
- Wireless communication
- User interface
- Battery and charger
There are multiple types of AGVs available:
Masted
These versatile vehicles look like manual lift trucks and can be fitted with standard attachments, including lift forks and clamps.
Unit Load
This compact vehicle operates directly underneath the load and is capable of engaging with stands and conveyors.
Tuggers
These robot vehicles can tow up to three-wheeled carts.
Custom Vehicles
HTI can custom engineer unique vehicles or applications designed specifically for your business needs or warehouse environment.
The mobile robots are especially beneficial for supporting automated processes such as AS/RS racking systems, consistently transporting materials over long distances, processes that require constant throughput, and environments where it is unsafe to operate manned forklifts.
